By drilling only one rim wall, Mavic made the rim four times more resistant to fatigue stress. All your energy is transmitted through a 40% increase in rigidity. One wall of the rim is drilled with a tapered point with carbide that heats the alloy, and pushes it inside the rim. It creates a chimney that can then be threaded. The integrated M7 nipple can be screwed directly into this thread.

Exclusive to Mavic, an aluminum alloy that is 30% more resistant than a 6106 alloy for lighter and spicier rims. Exclusive alloy developed specifically for Mavic by Pechiney Alcan Group, for rim manufacturing and optimizing alloy characteristics vs. that specific use.

SUP (Soudé Usiné Process)
A welded and milled rim joint which is extremely strong, eliminates shuddering when braking and offers superior wheel balance. After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a smooth finish.

UB Control (Usiné Brut Control): The braking surfaces are milled to improve braking friction and eliminate shuddering. The sidewalls of the rim are milled with a diamond point on a digitally controlled machine after assembly and anodization.

UST Tubeless (Universal Standard for Tubeless)
A better grip for tighter control. No more tube, no more rim tape: sounds too good to be true? The UST Tubeless concept eliminates heat, friction and guarantees a slow deflating rate if punctured. Creation of an airtight rim thanks to the Fore concept, drilling of one rim wall only. A UST rim profile shows specific humps to fix securely UST compatible tire or any other tube type tire.
